The alleged deadly assault of two women this week by men known to police has put the spotlight on what Attorney General Mark Dreyfus calls a crisis of male violence.

The tragic circumstances of both Molly Ticehurst in Forbes and Emma Bates in Cobram are still to be tested in court, but on the face of it, are eerily similar. Both were allegedly assaulted by men known to them who both had previous interactions with the judicial system.
