‘Not a scenario’: Star concedes it’s unfit to operate Sydney

Star Entertainment executive chairman David Foster has conceded the embattled gaming giant is not suitable to operate a casino in Sydney, and there is “not a scenario” where it will be able to run its flagship business unsupervised for months.

Mr Foster, appearing before a NSW inquiry into whether the ASX-listed group should be handed back its gaming licence, also admitted he was “trigger-happy” when he told Star’s then chief executive, Robbie Cooke, that the state’s casino regulator should be scrapped and a government-appointed manager removed.
