Russian-born technology entrepreneur Zhenya Tsvetnenko made his money out of the micro-payments generated by Google advertisements and mobile telephone applications. He has scaled back his interests in a range of diversified businesses – from synthetic grass and social media – in the past year to focus on mobile applications.
Tsvetnenko says his joint venture with ASX-listed tech company SmartTrans, which sells applications in China, is starting to yield strong sales, and a move back into the European market is in his sights.
Tsvetnenko is also a backer of the Zhivago fashion label, for which his wife, Lydia, designs clothes. US pop singer Lady Gaga recently wore one of their costumes to a film premiere.
Tsvetnenko has an extensive portfolio of property investments and a stable of luxury cars. His white Hummer recently went missing, along with Zhivago’s newest collection of clothes, on the eve of a charity fund-raiser.
