Terry Snow first got into business as an accountant with Coopers & Lybrand. He has come a long way since, with a fortune valued at $675 million after a reassessment of his assets. A key project for Snow family business, Capital Property Finance, has been the opening of the first half of the new $420 million terminal project at Canberra Airport. In terms of risks, the international debt situation is a concern. “For a business and a family that is heavily leveraged, there are major risks and thus concerns about not just the price of debt funding but also its availability in the marketplace,” he says. It has been a busy year for the Snow Foundation, which was set up by Terry and his brother George to benefit the disadvantaged in and around Canberra. It spent nearly $1 million last year on social welfare and health and disabilities programs, among others.
