Starting a business is never easy and people who are brave enough to do it rarely get the credit they deserve. This is where we come in.
BRW is looking for the 10 best start-up businesses of 2012.
Unlike many of our lists, the Best Start-Ups is not about the biggest revenue stream or the most net assets. It is about the best idea and business plan. Who has identified a gap and the market and set about filling it in a way that demands success?
BRW will conduct wide-ranging interviews to determine which businesses are included on this year’s Best Start-Ups but we are also happy to accept applications. To be considered, all businesses must have been established in 2012. The idea for the business may have been generated previously but work has to have begun in 2012. Operations can be nascent but it is also necessary to have evidence of sales.
Interested parties are encouraged to send a one-page outline to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please write Best Start-Ups for 2012 in the subject heading and place your name and phone number at the top of the written outline.
Applicants should explain concisely what their business does, how it is being funded and why it is worthy of recognition. It would also be appropriate to provide an intended timeline of key milestones.
Suitable candidates will be interviewed by staff reporters and the winners will be announced in BRW early next year.
