Dos and don’ts of success

1. Commit: Don’t do it on the side. Quit your job and commit to the business full-time.

2. Innovate: A start-up business’ best chance of success will be to meet an unfulfilled need. Competing directly against established businesses is tough.

3. Execute via the most efficient means: For many businesses, this will mean the web.

4. Don’t wait: If your business is based on a good idea, someone else is probably trying to beat you to the punch.

5. Get help: Start-up businesses need cash but they also benefit from external expertise. Pick your partners carefully.
