The big four bank that ‘can’ win triathlons

Winners are grinners: CBA’s Vlad Shatrov, Brendan Krone and John Binfield took out Sunday’s Nissan Corporate Triathlon, presented by BRW.

The big four banks might be similar in some ways, but Commonwealth Bank’s staff are the clear leaders at swimming, cycling and running if the results of Sunday’s Nissan Corporate Triathlon in Sydney are anything to go by.

The event, for which BRW is media partner, was won by the ‘Commonwealth Bank 1’ team. Its three members - Vlad Shatrov, Brendan Krone and John Binfield - completed their 300 metre swims, eight kilometre bike rides and three kilometre swims in a cumulative 1 hours, 24 minutes and 18 seconds.

In second place was Cochlear’s cleverly-named ‘Earforce 1’, while Commonwealth Bank medalled a second time with its ‘2’ team in third place.

About 4000 triathletes took part in the event, the second in the national series of Nissan Corporate Triathlons which heads next to Adelaide on March 24.
